skull clutch & cape

I made this skull clutch to go with this skull cape that I made for Halloween........

this cape is a Frankenstein of a Burdastyle skirt pattern & my own cape pattern....I used a glow in the dark fabric with a glow in the dark hot pink zipper because......well..... I love hot pink.........

for the clutch I used a stabilizer to give the bag some shape....plus it was all I had......

I sewed it right sides together............

added the hot pink zipper........

and done........I made this clutch large to hold all my stuff...........

I also added a skull pendent & chain on the end of the zipper pull that I had in my jewelry making box......

Happy Halloween!

friday fabulousness.....epic slip dress.......

This is a re fashion of my Nanny's Vanity Fair vintage slip.......a thought & something so simple to sew.....making something old...... new again & a slip that is too pretty to be covered up.............

I also used her lace pieces that was given to me.........

I sewed the larger lace to the bottom hem of the slip which had a tiny hem.............

my inspiration came from 1997......Cindy's slip dress for her wedding..........

and this photo that was sent to me.........to which I added my lace camisole made by me.

fur necklace........

Hello sewing & DIY friends!  I have been MIA due to a little illness soon after I returned home from my vacation but I am getting better.... so no worries!  I have missed sewing so much & I hope to start some fall projects that I have been thinking about very soon.   In the mean time I have been slowly working on some necklaces that I can do while resting in my bed.

For this glamorous necklace I used some fur that was leftover from a project last year, chains that I also had leftover from a dress project, jump rings, pliers & a couple of straight pins, needle & thread.

I started by using my pliers to twist the straight pins around the chains to make a link......

this joins the chains to the ring so it hangs nicely............

and also makes hand sewing the chains to the fur much easier.............

My inspiration came from one of my fur vests that I wore the other day & I am liking this trend that has returned this season.  Now maybe some fur bracelets or rings?
